International Commercial Arbitration
We assist clients in a wide range of disputes, including complex cross-border conflicts in a variety of industries, such as oil and gas, banking, construction and many others.
Our practice is experienced in representing clients in international commercial arbitration under the rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), and the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (ICAC).
International Investment Arbitration
We represent and advise a number of investors in major disputes against sovereign states relating to expropriation and other violations of investment protection standards under the bilateral investment treaties concluded by the Russian Federation with foreign states, as well as under the multilateral investment agreements (the Energy Charter Treaty).
Our practice is experienced in international investment arbitration under the Additional Facility Rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID AF) and the Arbitration Rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
Domestic Litigation
We represent Russian and foreign clients in the Russian court proceedings related to the resolution of complex and non-standard disputes, including contractual and liability disputes, property and securities disputes, as well as corporate and public law disputes.
We assisted clients in the most significant corporate disputes, including representation of majority and minority shareholders in companies, as well as the company itself and its management. Our experience includes disputes arising out of corporate agreements, on ownership of shares, on appeals against decisions of governing bodies, and disputes relating to the derivative claims.
International Litigation
We represent Russian and foreign clients in the disputes before foreign courts and in proceedings for the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards and foreign judgments as well as in the setting aside proceedings.
Our experience includes successfully defending of the Russian state-owned companies and their top management in the foreign courts. We work with leading law firms in various jurisdictions to ensure the best possible results for our clients.
Sanctions Disputes
We assist clients in challenging the economic sanctions imposed on them in both administrative and judicial proceedings in the EU, USA, UK and other jurisdictions. Our experience includes successfully defending several Russian Forbes-listed clients as well as Russian state-owned companies and their top management.
Our services also include establishing the evidentiary basis for subsequent sanctions appeals (including liaising with sanctions regulators to obtain information on the reasons for inclusion on sanctions lists) and the release of the frozen assets.
Bankruptcy and Insolvency
Our team provides comprehensive support in insolvency (bankruptcy) proceedings against Russian legal entities, representing the interests of our clients both in general bankruptcy proceedings and in various separate disputes, such as the inclusion of the company's claims on the creditor claims register, protection of creditors from the inclusion of unjustified claims in the register, disputing of the debtor’s transactions or protection from the dispute of debtor’s transactions, subsidiary liability of the debtor's controlling persons or protection of persons brought to subsidiary liability
